Therapy Intensives

Deepen connection. Jump-start communication. Experience what’s possible - in just a few weeks.

Why Choose an Intensive?

Not every family has access to specialized services like AAC support or Floortime-informed therapy. You might be looking for more hands-on coaching, deeper guidance, or a focused opportunity to support your child’s communication in a way that feels personal and collaborative.

Our therapy intensives are a short-term, high-impact option for families who want:

  • More dedicated time with a specialist

  • Access to AAC expertise and Floortime-based support

  • A clear, immersive experience with parent involvement built in

  • Support that’s responsive to your child - not one-size-fits-all

Whether you're nearby or traveling in, intensives offer a meaningful and concentrated way to build connection and confidence.

What to Expect

Our Approach

Therapy intensives at Around the Spectrum Therapy offer a focused, immersive experience for families seeking deeper support in a shorter timeframe.

Each intensive is uniquely tailored to the child - whether that includes support for AAC, language development, social connection, or emotional regulation. We use a Floortime-informed, relationship-based approach that centers your child’s regulation, joy, and connection. Sessions are play-based and responsive, structured around how your child naturally engages rather than how we expect them to perform.

We create space for co-regulation, shared attention, movement, and meaningful interaction - adapting moment to moment as we follow your child’s lead and gently support growth.

When AAC is part of a child’s communication journey, we integrate it seamlessly into real interactions. Whether your child is already using a device or just beginning to explore one, we support expressive communication in ways that feel natural, personal, and empowering.

Because therapy happens daily over several weeks, there’s time to build trust, deepen connection, and layer skills more quickly than in a traditional weekly model. And because you’re actively involved - from virtual coaching to in-the-moment modeling - you’ll leave with not just insight, but practical tools to carry forward at home.

This isn’t about doing more. It’s about going deeper - together.

How it All Works

  • Once you reach out, we’ll schedule a time to learn more about your child and your goals. We’ll talk through your questions, discuss what’s been working (and what hasn’t), and determine whether an intensive is the right fit. If it is, we’ll work with you to choose the right format and finalize your start dates based on availability.

  • If you are coming for a week long intensive, we’ll meet for two virtual parent coaching sessions to set goals, gather context, and help you know exactly what to expect. You’ll head into day one feeling equipped, supported, and ready to make the most of your time.

  • Each intensive includes a series of therapy sessions designed to build momentum, deepen connection, and support your child in a focused, individualized way. Sessions combine direct therapy with hands-on parent coaching, all grounded in a Floortime-informed approach. Depending on your child’s needs, support may include AAC, language development, play, or regulation, with every interaction shaped by trust, curiosity, and authentic connection.

  • At the end of your intensive, we’ll revisit your child’s progress and reflect together on what’s working. For some formats, this includes dedicated follow-up sessions to support carryover at home. No matter which path you choose, you’ll leave with meaningful insight, practical strategies, and a plan tailored to your child’s continued growth.
